The management of Bowen University yesterday closed the school indefinitely following students’ protest last night.
From a source, we gathered that there was a hike in school fees, meal time was fixed, students were asked to be taking their coolers to the cafeteria, all students were asked to leave the dormitories by 6am and not return until 4pm even if
they don’t have lectures among other rules that could inconvenience the students.
The students vandalized some school properties, some Boys hostels were deserted, cars were vandalized, school gate was open wide.
Our source also confirmed that the school authority invited the police and tear gas was released to help calm things down.
A press release from the school authorities as to the happening turned out to be a temporary closure of the school indefinitely.
